Some installers are independent, while some work for specific companies. Other installers are proficient in the installation of windows of a particular frame material or even a particular application, whether it be residential replacement, retrofit, or new construction. The following grid explains the requirements as well as the distinct advantage each level of certification offers so that you may choose the one that best suits your needs. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Level 1 benefits the independent contractor who wishes to work for many companies, with different frame material, and in any type of residential construction application. Level 2 benefits installers with less experience and where the experience has been in a particular product or type of construction. It permits the installer to work for different companies and carry the certification with him. Level 3 is most beneficial to contract installers who have been trained in a particular product, in a particular type of construction, for a particular company. Level 3 certification is only valid for as long as the certified installer works for that company and/or installs that product line. |
